About Ureaplasma urealyticum

Ureaplasma urealyticum belongs to the Mycoplasmataceae family and is among the smallest self-replicating bacteria known. It hydrolyzes urea to produce ammonia, causing mucosal irritation. High bacterial loads frequently lead to non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), chronic prostatitis in men, and recurrent vaginosis, pelvic discomfort, or pregnancy complications in women.

Testing Window Period

Earliest Detection 7 - 14 Days post-exposure
